Paranormal Phenomena

Greetings and Welcome!

You may notice, with the blog-like nature of this site, that queasy games is quite informal when compared to other traditional game developer websites. Whereas the other sites are aimed at selling product, I'm more interested in exploring (can you guess?) phenomena in player-game interactions. That might sound a bit too philosophical for its own damn good, but I say "phenomena" because I see instances of similar interaction-types that continue to go unnamed. What I mean is that unlike other artforms, the gaming community has yet to develop a unified and generalized language to support meaningful discussion on the many aspects of the gaming medium. For now we seemed to be confined to example -- hardly sufficient.

Which reminds me, Spacetime Nine has started quite an interesting topic on the forums about metagaming. Apologies for the jarring colour-scheme shift from this page to the forums. I've still got to fix that.

I should also mention that a subgoal of this site is to point out and possibly dissect (in a non-technical sense) many of the excellent indie and freeware games that have somehow gone unnoticed. For one, I still can't understand how there exists Gate 88 players who have not played Parsec 47, which I thought is an insanely popular game. My mind is definately in the boggled position.

Well, it's past 5am right now so the new version of Gate 88 should be online in less than 24 hours. And I still have work to do.
